Our Faith

ARTICLE 111. STATEMENT OF FAITH

An applicant for membership must, without qualification, subscribe to the following declarations of biblical faith:

Section A. Doctrine of the Trinity.

We believe in one God who has always existed in three persons–God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. (Deuteronomy 6:4; Matthew 3: 16, 16; Matthew 28: 19; Il Corinthians 13: 14)

Section B. Doctrine of the Scriptures.

We believe in the inspiration of all the Scriptures by the Holy Spirit and their inerrancy as originally given, and that they are the final authority for our faith and practice. (Il Peter 1:21; Il Timothy 3: 16, 17)

Section C. Doctrine of Christ.

We believe in Jesus Christ, God’s only begotten Son, conceived of the Holy Spirit, born of the

Virgin Mary, sinless in His life, true God and true man (Isaiah 7: 14; Matthew l: 18-23; Il Corinthians 5:21; Colossians 2:9; Philippians 2:5-8). We believe that He “died for the sins of all mankind, according to the Scriptures, and that He was buried, and that He arose the third day” bodily (I Corinthians 15:3,4; Luke 24:39). We believe in             ascension into Heaven, His high priestly intercession for His people and His personal, visible, and imminent return to rapture His church. We further believe in His visible return to the world according to His promise (Acts 1: 1 1; Hebrews 7:25; 1 John 2: 1; 1 Thessalonians 1:10; 4:13-18; 5:1-11; Matthew 24:124-29; Jude 14; Revelation 19: 11-21).

Section D. Doctrine of the Holy Spirit.

We believe that the Holy Spirit regenerates, baptizes, indwells and seals the believing sinner at the moment of conversion. We believe that He sovereignly gives gifts to every believer for service. We believe the Holy Spirit causes the believer to grow into the likeness of Christ and fills him with power to live a Godly life and to bear witness to Jesus Christ; (I Corinthians 3: 16,; 12: 11, 12; 13:8-11; Ephesians 4:30; John 3:5).

Section E. Doctrine of Salvation.

We believe that all men by nature and choice have sinned; but that “God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” (Isaiah 53:6; Romans 3:23; John 3:16). We believe, therefore, that those who receive by faith the Lord Jesus Christ as Savior are born again of the Holy Spirit and thereby become children of God. Those who refuse to accept Christ as Savior, will be forever separated from God in Hell. We believe in the eternal security of all who come to saving faith in Christ (John 10: 27-29; Romans 8:30-35).

Section F. Doctrine of the Church. We believe that there is one church, the head of which is Christ, and that the church is composed of all who are saved regardless of their denominational connections (Ephesians 1:13; 1:22-23; 5:23, 29-30).

Section G. Doctrine of Man. We believe that man was created by God in HIS own image for the express purpose of glorifying Him and that through disobedience he became a sinner separated from God’s life and fellowship and is now unable to regain his original conditional by any human efforts (Romans 1:18-32•, 3:9-20; Genesis 1:26-27).

ARTICLE IV. ORDINANCES

Rock Hill Bible Fellowship Church observes the ordinances of Baptism and the Lord’s Supper:

Section A Baptism – Baptism is a public testimony of one’s salvation by faith in Christ (Matthew 28: 19-20).

Section B. The Lord’s Supper – The Lord’s Supper is a memorial to Christ’s death until He comes (I Corinthians 11:23-26).
